In the name of security and the fight against terrorism, the Saudi Arabian authorities have launched a sustained assault on human rights. Combined with severe repression of all forms of dissent and an extremely weak human rights institutional framework, this has resulted in an almost complete lack of protection of freedoms and rights in Saudi Arabia. This report evaluates the impact on human rights of the counterterrorism measures introduced in Saudi Arabia in recent years and highlights several cases of prisoners.
