As a human rights organization, Amnesty International takes no position on the question of Palestinian statehood, which is a political issue outside our mission. However, the Palestinian request for full UN membership has initiated a process which will have important implications for human rights concerns in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) regardless of its eventual outcome at the UN.
