Yemeni national, Salah Nasser Salim 'Ali was living in Indonesia, when he was arrested and sent to Jordan, where he says he was tortured. Another Yemeni national living in Indonesia, Muhammad Faraj Ahmed Bashmilah, travelled to Jordan in 2003 where, when asked, he said he had travelled to Afghanistan. He then saw no one except prison guards until handed over to the Yemeni authorities over eighteen months later. In this action sheet, Amnesty International calls on the Jordanian Authorities to stop the practice of torture in detention centres; to stop the use of incommunicado detention; and to compensate the victims.
