This letter is from the Secretary General to the Special Representative on Human Rights and Transnational Corporations and other Business Enterprises. Amnesty International welcomes the commitment of the Special Representative to deepening the inquiry into the nature of state obligations to protect and ensure respect for human rights by corporate actors. Among issues raised, the Organization is concerned that the approach of "principled pragmatism" report may lead to underestimating the need for binding legal principles.
