On 19 and 20 July, the Human Rights Committee's (HRC) considered the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo's (UNMIK) report on its implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). In this report, presented to the HRC Amnesty International highlighted its grave concerns about certain violations of human rights in Kosovo since 1999. Amnesty International considered that UNMIK signally failed in many respects to abide by or uphold international human rights law. The HRC's "principal subjects of concern and recommendations" have been added to each relevant section of Amnesty International's original briefing.
