Amnesty International is submitting this briefing to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. The document highlights concerns relating to human rights violations committed during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These include the failure of the authorities to: bring legislation criminalising war crimes of sexual violence in line with international standards, which may result in impunity for such acts; bolster capacity for investigation and prosecution and support services to victims; and provide full reparation to survivors of war related crimes of sexual violence.
