Bozo Sobirov, a leading member of the opposition Democratic Party of Tadzhikistan until November 1992 and one of the country's finest poets, was arrested at Dushanbe airport on about 26 March 1993. He is being held incommunicado in the investigation-isolation prison of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dushanbe. AI fears that he may be tortured in incommunicado detention.
