Amnesty International is deeply concerned at the current set of proposals from the government for the Northern Ireland Bill of Rights. The Organization believes that the current proposals fail to recognize the specific role and purpose of a Bill of Rights and fail to provide the people of Northern Ireland with a full set of rights at the highest standard. In this document Amnesty International urges the UK government to reassess its approach to legislating a Bill of Rights for Northern Ireland and to bring forward new proposals.
