Hakan Guler, aged 24, sports teacher, Kadri Tursan, teacher, Koksal Gumus, Deputy Director, Lice National Education Branch: On 2 January 1996 the National Liberation Front of Kuridstan replied to AI saying that if the three teachers above had been abducted by armed PKK members, it was an unauthorized action, and urgent steps would be made to seek their release. AI remains seriously concerned for their safety.
