Amnesty International has serious concerns about the Spanish and Moroccan authorities' treatment of people attempting to cross the Spanish/Morrocan border clandestinely at Ceuta and Melilla. Investigations in the past two years have revealed abuses including unlawful expulsions, lack of due process and excessive use of force by the security forces. On the basis of the concerns expressed in this report, Amnesty International urges the Spanish and Moroccan governments to accept its recommendations, comply with their international duties on the rights of refugees and promote the protection of the human rights of migrants.
