Spain must take prompt steps to address concerns of the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances and the Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-recurrence

In this written statement to the 27th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council, Amnesty International urges Spain to implement the recommendations contained in the reports of the Working Group and of the Special Rapporteur. Spain has continued to prevent people fleeing from human rights violations in third countries from having access to the asylum procedures. There have been expulsions to Morocco without observing relevant Spanish legal procedures, where persons concerned could be at risk of suffering human rights violations, including enforced disappearances.
