Since the publication of Amnesty International’s report on the unlawful use of firearms in Bulgaria in October 1997 it has continued to receive reports of incidents of shootings in disputed circumstances. This report highlights some of these cases and renews AI’s call upon the Bulgarian authorities to investigate these incidents fully and bring the Bulgarian firearms law into line with international standards in this area.
