Thailand: A human rights review based on the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights

In 1997 Thailand acceded to the ICCPR and has made considerable progress in protecting human rights. However, there remain several problems in both law and practice particularly around the issues of death penalty, impunity, torture and ill-treatment, prison conditions, unfair trials and arbitrary detention of asylum seekers. This report looks at these problems in the context of the individual articles of the ICCPR.
