Mongolia: Briefing to the Committee Against Torture

Amnesty International is submitting this briefing to the Committee Against Torture (the Committee) ahead of its examination of Mongolia’s initial report on the implementation of the International Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (the Convention) in November 2010. This briefing covers on-going concerns in Mongolia as well as violations of the Convention which occurred in the context of the 1 July 2008 riot in which at least five people died.
