This document is a summary of the Amnesty International report which demonstrates the extent to which the Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) undertaken by Vedanta Resources Plc for the Orissa mine and refinery fall short of India’s regulatory requirements. The government of India should take appropriate action to protect these rights, and Vedanta should take responsibility for its human rights impacts in line with international standards.
