Muhammad Faraj Ahmed Bashmilah, a 37-year-old Yemeni living in Indonesia, travelled to Jordan in October 2003 to be with his mother who was about to undergo medical treatment. There his passport was taken away and he was detained in an unknown location, in total isolation, for more than a year and a half. In May 2005, he was released from secret detention and flown to Yemen, where he remains in prison without being charged or tried with any offence. This document urges that he be released or charged with a recognizable offence and given a fair trial.
