USA: In whose best interests? Omar Khadr, child ‘enemy combatant’ facing military commission (Summary Report)

This is a summary of the report about Omar Khadr, a Canadian national, who has been in US military detention for approaching six years. Taken into custody in July 2002 when he was 15 years old, he is now facing a “war crimes” trial by a military commission the procedures of which do not comply with international fair trial standards and contain no juvenile justice provisions. He faces five charges under the Military Commissions Act (MCA).
