Amnesty International has serious human rights concerns in Suriname, ranging from impunity for violations committed over the last two decades and ongoing violations by security forces to prison conditions and treatment of detainees. Other matters of concern include the situation of children, administration of justice, protection against discrimination and Suriname's position on the death penalty.
