In this letter, Amnesty International welcomes the commitment of the Prime Minister of Jamaica to ending violence against women and girls. The letter refers to the major report AMR 38/002/2006 which is part of an international campaign to end violence against women. In the aforementioned report, Amnesty International argues that sexual violence and discrimination against women and girls is unacceptably high in Jamaica.
