Guatemala: Police involvement in killings in Guatemala

Killings by members of the police, or by clandestine groups in which former or serving members of the police are believed to be involved, continue to be reported in Guatemala. Illustrated by the case studies in this report, many of the victims share common characteristics. They are predominantly young, associated with people suspected of involvement in crime and come from some of the most marginalized and deprived neighbourhoods.
