Elizardo Sanchez Santa Cruz, President of the unofficial Comision Cubana de Derechos Humanos y Reconciliacion Nacional (CCHDRN), was conditionally released from Aguica Prison on 5 May 1991; he will be monitored until the expiry of his sentence. Huber Jerez Marino, President of the Comite Martiano por los Derechos del Hombre (CMDH), was released from Camaguey Provincial Prison on 1 February 1991; his sentence had expired. Hiram Abi Cobas Nunez, acting Secretary General of the Partido pro Derechos Humanos en Cuba (PPHDC) was released in November 1990 for medical reasons; he now lives in the USA. Mario Jesus Fernandez Mora and Edgardo Llompart Martin, alleged members of the illegal opposition group Movimiento Integracionista Democratico, were released on 19 March 1991.
