There is grave concern for the safety of Maria Eugenia Cardenas, her family and members of ASFADDES following the possible extrajudicial execution of her cousin, Jose Maria Cardenas who was reportedly abducted on 3 December 1997. His body was found the next day. Members of this family have suffered repeated human rights violations over a number of years
