The history of displacement, cultural upheaval and social strife at Grassy Narrows in north-western Ontario illustrates the tragic consequences of government failure to protect the human rights of Indigenous Peoples. In this document Amnesty International calls on the provincial government not to permit clear-cut logging or other industrial development in Grassy Narrows except with the free, prior and informed consent of the community.
