Indigenous Peoples in the Americas have long experienced marginalisation and discrimination. Denied a voice in decisions which affect their lands, lives and livelihoods, Indigenous Peoples are disproportionately affected by poverty, even when living in areas rich in minerals and other natural resources. In this document, on the International Day of the World\'s Indigenous People, Amnesty International highlights some of the cases documented by the organisation. Their nuances and differences typify the unjust and continuing pattern of human rights violations described.
