Amnesty International is calling on the Chinese government to ensure that, in future investment and trade both in Sudan and in the rest of Africa, China will give paramount importance to ensuring the human rights of African people. For example, in this document the organisation asks that China not authorise international transfers of arms where they are likely to be used for violations of human rights. Amnesty International also calls on the China-Africa Summit makes a clear statement that the development of wealth should be used to realize the economic, social and cultural rights for the people of Sudan.
