In this report, Amnesty International makes recommendations to the United Nations Mission to Sudan (UNMISUD), to be deployed under the Comprehensive Peace Agreement between the government and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A), to ensure this mission would be as effective as possible in protecting and promoting human rights. Amnesty International urges that the human rights component be integrated in all aspects of the mission and calls on the UN peace support mission to prioritise the rights of women and children in all aspects of its operations.
