Mohamed Al Mahjoub was released without charge on 17 April 2009. He had spent six days detained incommunicado by the National Security and Intelligence Services (NISS) in El Fasher, North Darfur. He is in good health, and has said that he was not tortured. He is not allowed to leave El Fasher.
