Senegal: Time to live up to promises: Amnesty International submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review

In this submission Amnesty International notes that Senegal did not accept key recommendations made during its previous review, including concerning freedom of expression, association and assembly, and sexual orientation. With regard to the human rights situation on the ground, Amnesty International raises concerns with regard to excessive use of force to repress freedom of expression and assembly; torture, ill-treatment and death in detention; and impunity for human rights violations, including in the context of the Casamance conflict.
