On 31 October 2007, newspaper editor Ibrahim Manzo Diallo was formally charged with criminal association as he is accused of links with the Mouvement des Nig�riens pour la justice, an armed opposition movement formed of members of the Tuareg ethnic community. Amnesty International considers him to be a prisoner of conscience, detained solely for his peaceful and legitimate activities as a journalist.
