Opposition activists Edmond Jika and Gabriel Nkunika, officials of the United Front for Multi-Party Democracy were arrested at Kamuzu Airport on their return from exile in Zambia. They are being held in police custody in Lilongwe, reportedly without access to their families or lawyer. They have been held without charge longer than the 24 hours permitted by law.
