Following the arrest of Laurent Gbagbo, the former President of Côte d’Ivoire, on 11 April 2011, dozens of individuals have been arrested and are detained arbitrarily, without charge or trial, in circumstances that contravene international fair trial standards. Amnesty International has sought clarification about the circumstances and grounds of detention of Laurent Gbagbo and other military and police officials imprisoned in Korhogo.
