Chad: Further information: Jean Laokolé charged and awaiting trial

Writer and humanitarian worker Jean Laokolé was transferred to the Am Sinene detention centre in the Chadian capital, N’Djamena, on 25 March. He had been detained incommunicado for three days. He has been charged with defamation.
