It includes reports of intimidation of trade unionists in Colombia, including the killing of Juan Alberto Garay, found dead on 24 October 1991; the imprisonment in China of Zhang Qiwang, accused of being a "key member" of the Autonomous Union of Shanghai Workers; the killing in the Philippines of union activist Edilberto Benson, his wife Haydee and 10-year-old daughter on 28 August 1991; the "disappearance" of Marcela Valdez de la Cruz, a Peruvian teacher and trade unionist reportedly detained by the army in May 1991; the "disappearance" of Moroccan trade unionist Houcine el Manouzi; and the detention in a "ghost house" of Sudanese Ali al-Mahi al-Sakhi.
