Amnesty International to publish Turkey freedom of expression report

In a report to be presented at a press conference in Istanbul Amnesty International is calling on the Turkish authorities to deliver genuine human rights reform when adopting the “Fourth judicial package” now before Parliament. In its present form it fails to bring Turkey’s laws in line with international human rights standards
Amnesty International’s report, Decriminalize dissent: Time to deliver on the right to freedom of expression analyzes the current law and practice related to the most problematic articles in the Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Law threatening freedom of expression.
