Amnesty International Press Conference:
Violations of Freedom of Religion in Indonesia
Amnesty International is concerned about violations of freedom of religion and the failure to protect minorities in Indonesia by the government and the police.
There has been an increase in incidents of intimidation and attacks against the Ahmadiyya community and other religious minorities in Indonesia over the last few months.
There has also been an increasing number of local regulations that have been issued in various provinces and districts restricting the Ahmadiyya.
Amnesty International will join Kontras and other civil society groups at a joint press conference to discuss these issues.
