On 26 January 2000 the five men named above received last-minute stays of execution from a court in Antigua and Barbuda. This is to allow them to appeal to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in the United Kingdom, the final court of appeal for Antigua and Barbuda.

Michael Mason, whose appeal against his conviction had previously been denied by the Privy Council, had his execution stayed to allow him to appeal against the constitutionality of his death sentence.

No further action is required by the Urgent Action Network. Thank you to all those who sent appeals on their behalf.
