SUDAN Hashim Mohamed Zeyada, medical doctor




Amnesty International has learned that Dr Hashim Mohamed Zeyada and his Italian colleague were released from detention in Khartoum on 18 July 1995. Dr Zeyada was given back his passport, and the Sudanese Government stated that both men were free to travel wherever they wish.


FURTHER RECOMMENDED ACTION:


This UA is directed at both the Sudanese and Italian authorities, as well as the leaders of the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA). Please follow the recommendations below:


Please address the Sudanese Authorities by sending telegrams/telexes/faxes/express and airmail letters either in English, Arabic or in your own language:


- welcoming the release of Dr Zeyada and his Italian colleague on 18 July 1995 and the assurances given to both men that they are free to travel as they wish.
