Algeria: Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review: First session of the UPR Working Group, 7-11 April 2008
In this submission, Amnesty International raises concerns on discrimination against women; impunity of past human rights violations and the definition of terrorism. The submission describes concerns related to human rights violations in the context of counter-terrorism, harassment of human rights defenders and violence against women. Amnesty International makes a number of recommendations in the areas of concerns listed.
