Iran: Defender released; another awaits appeal
Iranian journalist and human rights defender Shiva Nazar Ahari was released on bail on 13 September 2010. Her colleague, Kouhyar Goudarzi, remains in prison, currently serving a one-year prison sentence subject to an appeal. He is a prisoner of conscience, held solely for the peaceful exercise of his rights to freedom of expression and association.
