Middle East: Israel and the Occupied Territories and the Palestinian Authority: Without distinction - attacks on civilians by Palestinian armed groups
Amnesty International urges the Palestinian Authority to arrest those involved in attacks on civilians and strengthen the effectiveness of its criminal justice system within the framework of international human rights standards. The organization calls upon the international community to assist the Palestinian Authority to do so. Amnesty International urges Israel to respect its obligations under international human rights and humanitarian law obligations in the measures it takes to prevent and to respond to attacks. Other states may also bring to justice in their own courts those responsible for violent attacks against civilians.
