Amnesty International submission to the World Bank safeguards policies review and update
Amnesty International welcomes the review of the World Bank’s (the Bank) environmental and social safeguards policies and is calling for the incorporation of human rights due diligence in the Bank’s revised safeguard policies. This submission highlights the centrality of human rights due diligence in strengthening the Bank’s capacity to ensure the effective implementation of its safeguards policies and ensure that activities it supports do not cause or contribute to human rights abuses.
