Oral statement on the outcome on the Republic of Korea under the Universal Periodic Review
Amnesty International welcomes the calls on the government to abolish the death penalty; to amend or abolish the National Security Law, and to ratify the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and the Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearances. Amnesty International strongly encourages the government to implement the recommendations to accede to the Migrant Workers Convention and to follow through on its election pledge to ratify the four ILO Fundamental Conventions.
