This document is AI’s submission to the review of the Criminal Justice System in Northern Ireland. The work has been conducted in accordance with AI’s mandate and has focused on three primary issues: ill-treatment and torture; fair trial issues for political prisoners; and political killings. AI believes that any coherent review of the justice system in Northern Ireland needs to address issues related to policing and emergency legislation.
