Turkey: Fear of torture: Ibrahim Halil Isik
Ibrahim Halil Isik was detained in Adana on 18 July 1995. He is being held in unacknowledged detention at Adana Police Headquarters. It is feared that he is being interrogated under torture. In early June, he met with an AI research delegate in Adana. The delegate was later detained and deported; his notes and documents were temporarily confiscated. Ibrahim Halil Isik, a journalist, worked for the newspaper Ozgur Ulke in its Urfa office until it ceased publication in Feburary 1995. He was previously detained in Urfa in May 1995.
