Italy: Invisible: Campaign for the rights of migrant minors in detention centres in Italy
Each year hundreds of minors arrive in Italy after crossing the Mediterranean in small, insecure boats together with thousands of adults. In direct contradiction of human rights laws and standards which allow detention of minors only in exceptional cases, Italy routinely holds minors in detention centres for migrants. Italian laws neglect them, and their numbers are not counted in official statistics.
