Federal Republic of Germany: Alleged ill-treatment of Bulent Demir
Bulent Demir, a 17-year-old German citizen of Turkish origin, was arrested by Berlin police during the early hours of 4 April 1994 for spraying the wall of a house with paint. He alleges that he was badly assaulted during the incident. A hospital certificate issued the same day shows he had suffered broken teeth, bruising and a broken finger which needed an operation.
