Cyprus: Further information on imprisonment of conscientious objector: Adamos Georgiou Eftychiou
Adamos Georgiou Eftychiou was sentenced to six months' imprisonment by Limasol Military Court on 3 July 1995 for refusing to perform compulsory military service. As a Jehovah's Witness, he is opposed to performing any kind of military service. He is one of 16 conscientious objectors currently in prison in Cyprus; all are, as far as AI knows, Jehovah's Witnesses.
