Cyprus: Imprisonment of conscientious objector: Panayiotis Dimitris Talia
Panayiotis Dimitris Talia was sentenced to six months' imprisonment on 26 September 1994 by Nicosia Military Court for refusing to perform military service. As a Jehovah's Witness he is opposed to performing any kind of military service. AI considers him to be a prisoner of conscience and is calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
