Cyprus: Imprisonment of conscientious objector Omiros Andreou Constantinou
Conscientious objector Omiros Andreou Constantinou was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for refusing to perform compulsory military service on 13 April 1994. This is his fourth term of imprisonment. He is one of three conscientious objectors currently in prison in Cyprus for refusing to perform military service. As far as AI is aware, all are conscientious objectors. AI considers him to be a prisoner of conscience.
