Belgium: Submission to the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance on Belgium
Amnesty International submits this contribution to the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI). Belgium has requested ECRI to evaluate the situation experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and intersex (LGBTI) individuals in Belgium. This submission specifically focuses on violations of the right to freedom of religion or belief in Belgium and discrimination experienced by religious minorities, in particular Muslims, on the ground of religion or belief. Furthermore, it includes recommendations pertaining to discrimination and violence experienced by LGBTI individuals.
